The Weeknd and BTS: ARTEVENTIA Provides Technical Supervision for Pyrotechnic Operations

Alongside Pirotecnico, ARTEVENTIA supported The Weeknd’s concerts at the Stade de France and the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre-Mauroy, as well as BTS’s concert at the Stade de France. These operations require human, regulatory, and technical skills, complemented by the ability to supply pyrotechnic products that meet high safety standards.

At a stadium concert, pyrotechnics contribute to the impact of the show. Its integration demands precise attention to the environment: the presence of artists and crews, proximity to spectators, equipment placement, and venue operational constraints.

To support these international productions, ARTEVENTIA provided technical supervision for the pyrotechnic operations in collaboration with Pirotecnico. Our mission: to assist the on-site teams and make the necessary decisions for implementation adapted to site conditions and French legislation.

Human Expertise at the Heart of Operations

The success of these operations primarily relies on the individuals who prepare and supervise them. ARTEVENTIA mobilized pyrotechnicians and a firing chief to provide direct on-site support to the teams.

Listening, conveying clear instructions, analyzing a situation, and making decisions are essential skills in this environment. Alongside the Pirotecnico teams, this presence allowed for connecting production needs with operational realities, while maintaining constant attention to safety.

Our role also involves knowing when to request an adaptation or set a limit when conditions demand it.

Regulatory Compliance Serving International Productions

Hosting a pyrotechnic setup designed for an international tour requires verifying its suitability within the French framework.

For The Weeknd and BTS concerts, ARTEVENTIA made key decisions regarding product usage conditions and the safety of operations. Our knowledge of French legislation informs these choices and enables us to assist teams in their practical implementation.

This regulatory expertise is combined with technical analysis: a product must be evaluated in terms of its intended use, placement, and environment.

Technical Expertise Attentive to People and Installations

Integrating effects requires a precise reading of the stage space. Safety distances, product characteristics, and proximity to structures, screens, lighting, or sound equipment are all parameters to consider.

Our technical supervision aims to anticipate interactions between pyrotechnic effects and this environment. The objective is to protect spectators, artists, and crews, while preserving the technical installations that make the show possible.

This approach combines preparation, on-site verifications, and adaptability to real operating conditions.

Supporting Artistic Ambitions in French Stadiums

Hosting an international production requires understanding its artistic universe and providing the means for it to unfold in a new environment. ARTEVENTIA supports artists and their teams in French stadiums by bringing together the human, regulatory, and technical skills necessary for the realization of their pyrotechnic projects.

From sequence design to implementation, we can manage the artistic and technical direction of the pyrotechnic component, in dialogue with the creative and production teams. This approach allows us to propose effects designed for the show’s identity, staging intentions, and the characteristics of each stadium.

Our ability to offer specific and exclusive effects, particularly those without fallout, opens up new creative possibilities. Selected based on their usage conditions, these effects combine visual impact, spectator safety, and protection of stage installations.

A Relay in France for Major International Productions

Our collaboration with Pirotecnico on The Weeknd and BTS concerts illustrates our ability to host international teams and support them closely on the ground.

This experience informs a comprehensive approach: understanding artistic expectations, designing technical solutions, integrating French requirements, and supervising operations. Productions thus have a single point of contact capable of ensuring continuity between creation and its realization in the stadium.

Each project has its visual language and constraints. ARTEVENTIA dedicates its expertise to this uniqueness, to build pyrotechnic sequences with artists that enrich their show and find their full place on major French stages.
