ARTEVENTIA lights up Bastille day at the Cinquantenaire in Brussels

On July 21, 2025, ARTEVENTIA will design the pyrotechnic finale for the Belgian Party, the grand celebration of the Belgian National Day held at the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels.

Following a concert featuring fifteen Belgian artists, and a laser and drone show accompanied by a DJ set from Netsky and Lost Frequencies, the ARTEVENTIA creation will close the evening in the Brussels sky. Conceived as the final movement of a large-scale multimedia production, the pyrotechnic finale extends the energy of the live performance, engaging in a dialogue with the monumental architecture of the Cinquantenaire.

Belgium Party 2025: When an entire evening converges toward the sky

On July 21, 2025, Brussels celebrates its National Day with a new edition of the Belgian Party, which has become one of the country’s major popular gatherings in just a few years. For the fourth consecutive year, the Parc du Cinquantenaire hosts an evening designed as a continuous crescendo: live music, DJ sets, lasers, drones, light, and pyrotechnics follow one another until the finale.

The setting itself immediately establishes the scale. The Cinquantenaire arches structure the gaze, giving the site a monumental depth and requiring each discipline to compose within an already powerful architectural framework.

“The Cinquantenaire is not just a backdrop. It is an architecture that imposes its own rhythm, lines, and verticality. The work consists of integrating the show into this frame without ever seeking to overwhelm it,” explains Édouard Grégoire, Artistic Director of ARTEVENTIA.

An evening designed as a crescendo

Starting at 9 PM, fifteen Belgian artists take over the two stages set up in the park. The lineup brings together several generations and aesthetics: pop, electro, rap, chanson, rock, and urban music. Axelle Red, Roméo Elvis, Mentissa, K3, Netsky, Lost Frequencies, Camille Yembe, Maksim, Helena, Francisco Schuster, and Youssef Swatt’s all participate in this great popular celebration.

The challenge is to maintain true continuity between the different stages of the evening. The concert is not an autonomous block, nor is the multimedia show or the fireworks display. Each must prepare the way for the next.

At 10:30 PM, the production changes scale. Lasers and drones gradually take over the sky during a DJ set by Netsky and Lost Frequencies. The stage, the monument, and the airspace begin to function as a single visual playground.

“On this type of event, the most important thing is to avoid a fragmented ‘catalogue’ effect. If the audience feels they are watching a concert, then a drone show, then a fireworks display, we lose part of the project’s power. The evening must feel like it is moving toward a single conclusion.”

It is precisely with this logic that ARTEVENTIA intervenes at 11 PM with the pyrotechnic finale.

Extending the live experience without starting a new show

The challenge of a finale placed after several hours of music and a multimedia show is unique. The audience has already seen a great deal. The visual density is high. The music has established its energy. The pyrotechnics must therefore not give the impression that a new show is beginning.

It must extend what already exists.

The work then focuses on rhythms, heights, openings, and the way the effects capture the musical energy to project it into space. Certain tableaux emphasize the monumentality of the site, while others seek movement and breadth.

“A finale should not simply be louder because it comes at the end. It must give the feeling that everything that has just happened has finally found its resolution.”

This logic is particularly important at the Cinquantenaire, where the display must dialogue with a monument that the public knows and recognizes immediately. The composition cannot be conceived independently of the arches or the park’s vanishing lines.

A national celebration on a country-wide scale

The Belgian Party is not limited to what happens in the park. The event is designed from the outset as a national rendezvous, broadcast live on several channels: RTBF, VRT, BRF, TV5 Monde, with a radio broadcast on Vivacité.

This dimension also changes the way the show is written. An image must work for the tens of thousands of people present on-site, but also for those discovering it through a screen.

Certain effects must therefore maintain strong legibility from a distance, while others are designed to build a television image that is immediately understandable.

“A major public event requires thinking about several viewpoints simultaneously. There is the audience in front of us, but also the cameras, the images that will be replayed later, and the people watching from home. The composition must work at all these scales.”

The announced presence of the Royal Family further strengthens this institutional and symbolic dimension. The Belgian Party thus becomes a concert, a popular event, a major audiovisual production, and a moment of national representation all at once.

A signature in continuity with Brussels

For ARTEVENTIA, this 2025 edition is part of an already strong relationship with Brussels and the Parc du Cinquantenaire. The house knows the site, its constraints, its perspectives, and the way the architecture can become an element of the staging.

This knowledge allows us to go beyond the purely technical question. The creation is not designed to simply “fill the sky,” but to find its rightful place within a larger production, serving a national celebration.

This perhaps best summarizes the 2025 edition: a finale that does not seek to exist alone, but to conclude an evening where music, architecture, light, drones, and fire have gradually converged toward the same space.

At 11 PM, the sky simply takes over.
