Adrien Teixeira: Field Rigor in the Service of Emotion

Adrien Teixeira: Field Rigor in the Service of Emotion

In a pyrotechnic show, there is the writing, the intention, and the vision. Then there is the field: precise execution, mastery of constraints, responsibility of action, and the ability to transform an imagined creation into a reality perfectly deployed in space and time. Adrien Teixeira operates at this intersection of technique, production, and live performance.

As a Project Manager at ARTEVENTIA, focused primarily on technical and production dimensions, he also serves as Site Manager and Firing Lead for the company’s shows. It is a central, demanding role where rigor never opposes sensitivity but, on the contrary, becomes its very foundation.

A Career Built Through Experience and Fieldwork

Before joining ARTEVENTIA, Adrien first studied aeronautics—a field that already demanded precision, methodology, and a technical culture. He then joined a Parisian pyrotechnics company, where he learned the trade and perfected his skills for a decade.

His entry into this world happened almost by chance, thanks to a friend who was already immersed in the field through family tradition. But as is often the case, what begins with a chance encounter soon becomes a personal calling.

For Adrien, there is a very clear founding moment: the first show he participated in. That day, he handled pink-effect shells for the first time. Seeing them bloom in the sky during the show provided him with an immediate, unique, and almost decisive emotion. At that moment, he understood that, in one way or another, this profession would be part of his life.

He has been part of the ARTEVENTIA adventure since 2016.

Making the Imagined Possible on the Ground

In his role within the company, Adrien intervenes at several essential stages. Upstream, he drafts technical briefs and layout plans in collaboration with designers, sales teams, and the client’s specifications. He also participates in drafting and editing the production documents necessary for project realization.

Then comes the fieldwork.

It is often there that he leads a team to install and execute the show as it was designed and sold, with a constant requirement: to scrupulously respect the artistic flow imagined by the designers. The entire strength of his profession lies in this delicate balance between fidelity to artistic intent and excellence in execution.

Creating the conditions for accuracy, without ever betraying the spirit of the show.

Technical Excellence in the Service of an Ephemeral Art

What fascinates Adrien about his profession is the possibility of creating something new, ephemeral, and deeply alive. He enjoys discovering new locations, participating in diverse projects, evoking emotions in the audience—and feeling them himself.

In a profession like his, certain qualities are indispensable: adaptability, concentration, and rigor. These three words accurately describe the reality of the field, where every site, configuration, schedule, and show imposes its own parameters.

The most demanding part of his work undoubtedly lies in the safe handling of explosives, for himself and others, but also in the absolute respect for the designers’ artistic framework. For it is not just about execution; it is about bringing a show to life in all its precision, without losing what makes it unique.

Shows That Leave a Lasting Impression

Among the shows produced with ARTEVENTIA, several have particularly left a mark on Adrien. He notably mentions the 500th anniversary of the Château de Chambord, as well as the show presented in Montreal as part of the international competition.

Certain moments return to him with particular intensity. In Montreal, the sequence featuring Les Cowboys Fringants moved him deeply. The strong bond between this group and Quebec, the emotional weight of the lyrics, and the context of the singer’s recent passing: everything suddenly converged in a moment of great power.

He also holds a striking memory of the Imagine Dragons concert at Chambord Live. That evening, he says he felt the emotion of the band and the audience almost physically. It was an intense sensation, mixed with stress, fatigue, and the pride of participating in a unique moment.

If he had to choose, Adrien would say he is particularly sensitive to shows presented in locations steeped in history, such as the Château de Chambord or the Palace of Versailles. These are sites where the performance takes on an extra dimension because it dialogues with the memory of the place.

A Certain Idea of the ARTEVENTIA Signature

For Adrien, ARTEVENTIA’s artistic signature lies in a form of sensitivity where it is not necessarily expected, made possible by the precise combination of sound and light. This is also what distinguishes the company’s shows: the ability to bring forth emotion through mastered writing, where visual intensity is never dissociated from intent.

Regarding the evolution of pyrotechnic shows in the coming years, his outlook is both lucid and committed. He sees a profession fighting to evolve this language in the right direction and hopes these shows will continue to endure. Perhaps, he says, by being fewer in number but of higher quality, more integrated into the year’s major events, much like what Les Masters de Feu represent.

Concerning hybrid forms—drones, light, lasers—he sees real added value. They can contribute to making a show more complete, broader, and more contemporary. However, for him, pyrotechnics must remain the majority, the backbone of the show.

A clear position that affirms the centrality of fire in the emotional experience.

The Human Element at the Heart of the Company

What Adrien appreciates most about teamwork at ARTEVENTIA is the place given to the human element at all levels. It is a point he expresses simply, but it says a lot about the spirit of the company.

He describes a collegial atmosphere—serious without being rigid, light without ever losing its high standards. It is a way of working together that relies as much on trust as on professionalism, giving everyone the opportunity to contribute their part to the common project.

This collective dimension matters all the more in a profession where responsibility is high, preparation times are demanding, and the moments of realization are extremely concentrated.

Adrenaline, Pride, and Passion

If he had to summarize his profession in one sentence, Adrien would say this: “We do dangerous and time-consuming work for a result that lasts only a few minutes, but it is worth all the effort.”

The phrasing is strong, honest, and direct. It summarizes what a pyrotechnic show is: an immense sum of effort, precision, time, and energy for a few minutes of absolute beauty.

When the show begins and the audience discovers the result, Adrien feels a strong surge of adrenaline, mixed with satisfaction and positive stress. This tipping point, where everything becomes real and the preparatory work fades in favor of the lived experience, remains one of the most intense for him.

Outside of shows, Adrien enjoys travel and cultural exchanges. He says with a certain simplicity that he was lucky enough to become passionate about his profession, even though pyrotechnics was not initially a childhood passion. And when his desire for discovery intersects with the world of fire, the interest is only greater.

To describe ARTEVENTIA in three words, he chooses: sensitivity, inventiveness, innovation.

Three words that also reflect his way of seeing the profession: an alliance between precision, creation, and movement.
